Your Relationship With God as His Child

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior,
God is your heavenly Father and you are his child.

You now have a personal relationship with Him.

I John 2:1 says, "My little children, these things write I unto
you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate
with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

God no longer deals with you as a sinner but as his son.

A good father loves and cares for his son. So your heavenly Father loves and cares for you.

I Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

A good father protects his son. So your heavenly Father will protect you.

Matthew 18:6 says, "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones
which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged
about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

A good father provides for his son. So your heavenly Father will provide for you.

Philippians 4:19 says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his
riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

A good father teaches and guides his son.

John 14:26 says, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

A good father helps is son. So your heavenly Father will also help you.

Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

A good father encourages his son. So your heavenly Father will also encourage you.

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

A good father disciplines his son. So your heavenly Father will discipline you.

Hebrews 12:5-11 says, "And ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, MY SON, DESPISE NOT THOU THE CHASTENING OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN THOU ART REBUIKED OF HIM:

FOR WHOM THE LORD LOVETH HE CHASTENETH, AND SCOURGETH EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEVETH.

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees:

And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled."

A good father feeds his son. So your heavenly Father will feed you.

Matthew 4:4 says, But he answered and said, It is written, "MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD."

A good father has a plan for his son.

Romans 8:28-29 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Sometimes earthly fathers make mistakes but loving fathers never do anything on purpose to hurt their children. Unlike an imperfect father, God is never wrong. God is a perfect Father. He never makes mistakes as he helps you grow and mature.

Matthew 7:11 says, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto our children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"
